Panasonic, or rather its parent Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd, is to close its Malaysian CRT factory, MT Picture Display, a Malaysian subsidiary of the Matsushita Toshiba Picture Display Company.
The operation makes picture tubes for the American and Japanese TV markets. The joint venture company was formed with Toshiba in 2002, to reduce manufacturing costs in what was an already declining CRT TV market.
