Microsoft has confirmed the price and delivery date of its first US Zune digital audio player. The model will street on 14 November, priced at 249 dollars.
The Toshiba-made unit has 30GB of storage, and is designed to work with Microsoft’s new subscription (14.99 dollars a month) and download online service (99 cents a track).
A key differentiator with the Apple iPod is Zune’s sharing feature, which lets users wirelessly transmit songs to each other for a three-day period. The unit also sports a built-in FM tuner, has a 3-inch screen and comes preloaded with nine songs, 12 music videos, three film shorts and a variety of images.
