It took a little longer than planned, but Sony has finally sold one million PlayStation 3s in Japan. Games magazine publisher Enterbrain has calculated that by July Sony shifted 1.01 million units; by way of comparison, the Wii sold 2.9 million, with the Xbox 360 lagging behind with sales of 420,705 consoles. A lack of compelling content is seen as a key reason for slow PS3 take-up. The biggest selling PS3 game in Japan is robot action title Gundam Muso.
