While both Sony and Toshiba have been quick to calm speculation that the former is looking to offload its semiconductor division to the latter for 100 billion Yen, Toshiba has confirmed that it has sold its prestigious Toshiba building site, located in the heart of Tokyo’s high-end shopping area Ginza, for 150 billion Yen. The buyer is Tokyu Land Corporation. Toshiba refuses to be drawn on any possible acquisition from Sony, but it has confirmed that it plans to plough money from the building sale into its chip operations.
