Samsung Electronics has revealed that its workforce has shrunk for the first time since 2002. According to a report submitted to the Korean Financial Supervisory Service, its staff numbers have dropped by 1,630, to 85,269 employees.
The downsizing follows restructuring in Samsung’s LCD TV and semiconductor divisions.
